Balakara Sharada Mahotsava Trust(R.)

The BALAKARA SHARADA MAHOTSAVA TRUST has been spear heading the cultural and religious activities in and around disrict. This trust has been flourishing for last 52 years and has been uniting people socially for this cause.Fifty two years ago started by a few enthusiastic boys, the Sharada Mahotsava Trust, as if a fruit of children’s dedicated worship and prayers to Goddess Sharada, has flourished measure to measure. The work span of the trust spread to other concerns like education and culture with time.
Different committees were formed to ease out management and to share the responsibilities of the activities performed here. The Sharada Mahotsava Trust takes the overall responsibility of proper conduct of the programmes and plans.The trust has recognized achievers and rewarded them for their hard work and achievements. This gesture has been hailed by the people as an encouragement for the young generation.The Trust does book keeping as per its bylaws, develops and protects assets and property and thus, it has won the public trust and appreciation due to its transparent functioning.

Sri Sharada Mahila Mandali

The women’s conclave was started at Sharda Nikethan commenced on 25th January 1998. It was inaugurated by Smt. M.Savithri Vitthal Rao. Smt. Sharmila Raghuram became the first president of the conclave. It was registed in 2002. From past 18 years the Mahila Mandali is conducting many socially beneficial programmes like visits to orphanages, spiritual discourses, trainings and sport events etc. The members of the conclave came together to pool in money to fetch golden and silver ornaments to the Idol of Goddess Sharada. The efficiency of many housewives and working women of the locality has improved many folds due to active participation in activities organised by the Mandali.

Sri Sharada Vidyanikethana Nursery School

The Samiti built Sharada Mahotsava Building with the generous donations of devotees in the important part of the city. The moment of its inauguration by Sri Virendrandra Heggade the Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmastala is unforgettable to us. It was his suggestion to be used to its full. To keep the building buzzing with activity many programmes were planned. We are happy to execute the suggestions of many well-wishers.
Since the Trust was first formed by a few students; the importance has been given to the blooming of little children in to enlightened citizens. And it is possible only through education. With the most radiant grace of Mother Sharada a Shishuvihara (Kindergarten) was started with the intention of providing foundation schooling.
As nursery school was started the chirping of little kids was heard at Niketan. Three women of different faiths symbolically imparting knowledge inaugurated Sharada Nikethan by lighting the holy lamp. A colourful welcome was offered to the guests on that day by children in different attires and tiger dance body painting . Smt. Sugandhi teacher and Smt. Radha R.Prabhu experienced and senior teachers were the first educators appointed for the play school. Later kindergarten started in same premises. The generous support from patrons from community around and selfless services teachers responsible for constant visible progress.
Apart from activities like yoga, classical and contemporary dance music and sports are encouraged .Celebrating different festivals and national festivals for inculcating socialisation, love for culture and patriotism. Many opportunities have been created for unveiling the hidden talents of the little students of the school. Annual School day celebration is observed during Navrathri festival with much gaiety.

Training Camps

It has been the observation of many that our youth are sadly losing interest in our ancient culture, traditions, spirituality, patriotism and human service due to modern way of thinking and lifestyle. To combat this, spiritual and personality development camps are being organised at Sri Sharada Niketan.
In association with various government departments, activities for young men and women are being conducted with a view to help develop positive thoughts and mindfulness. Efforts are put in to develop resources among the members of the community. The trust is relentlessly working towards associating with society around to bring in social mindedness and co-living

Balakara Sree Sharada Mahotsava Samiti Urva Chilimbi is functional in the heart of Mangalore city from past fifty years.Sri Sharada Devi is daily worshiped here .Grew with a prestige of building a pious and cultured society Samiti is winning public affection with its umpteen number of socially useful projects.

Free Medical & Blood Donation Camp

In association with various government departments, activities for young men and women are being conducted with a view to help develop positive thoughts and mindfulness. Efforts are put in to develop resources among the members of the community. The trust is relentlessly working towards associating with society around to bring in social mindedness and co-living.The trust and mahila Mandali has organized jointly many socially relevant programs for the last 20 years or more such as summer camps for children, blood donations camps, eye camps and dental camps. Hundreds of people have benefited from these camps.

Swachha Bharath Abhiyan

BALAKARA SARVAJANIKA SHRI SHARADA MAHOTSAVA TRUST has taken up the clean India(swatch Bharath) mission zealously. It has held three sessions of swatch Bharath events in collaboration with different organizations including the sri Ramakrishna mission. All members of our group of organization participated in the events. On these occasions programmes on cleanliness awareness were also held. At these events people of Chilimbi have taken a pledge to keep their area clean and bereft of garbage.

Falicitaions to Talents

BALAKARA SARVAJANIKA SHRI SHARADA MAHOTSAVS TRUST is also delighted to find many youngsters talented, hard working and achievers among the children living in Chilimbi. They are sports persons, students, and cultural performers. The BSSMS takes pleasure in recognizing their hard work and talents by annually felicitating them in befitting manner . They are given certificates, cash prizes and mementoes. The committee has been taking up this initiative for the last ten years. The parents and students appreciate this action of the committee specially when well know people from the society do the honours.
